Jersey Airtel Limited trading as Airtel-Vodafone is licensed by the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority to provide fixed and mobile (2G & 3G) services across the Bailiwick of Jersey. Guernsey Airtel Limited trading as Airtel-Vodafone is licensed by the Office of Utility Regulation (OUR) to provide mobile (2G & 3G) services across the Bailiwick of Guernsey, covering Guernsey, Alderney, Sark & Herm.
Airtel-Vodafone’s Regulatory Affairs team is responsible for ensuring the business complies and exceeds its licence obligations, as well as ensuring that Airtel-Vodafone is able to positively drive the growth of sustainable and true completion across both Guernsey and Jersey. The Regulatory Affairs team is responsible for all regulatory and legal matters within Airtel-Vodafone, including :-
• ensuring we comply with local and national licence requirements/ obligations and legislation
• ensuring we comply with local and national financial, business, corporate, consumer, health & safety, environmental & data protection requirements/ legislation etc
• developing Airtel-Vodafone’s environmental and social responsibility policies
• managing routine and strategic relationships with local (OUR & JCRA) and national regulators (OFCOM), including but not limited to numbering plans, codes, operating frequencies, and consultation documents.
• managing the regulatory and commercial relationship with key local, national and international competitors and partners
• developing and managing wholesale business opportunities for Airtel-Vodafone, including interconnect, premium wholesale and MVNO activities
• providing legal and commercial support and advice across the business
• engaging with local government to positively represent and lobby for stronger and more effective competition in the bailiwicks
• identifying and implementing best regulatory and commercial practices into Airtel-Vodafone
