We operate one network across the Channel Islands, offering the same products and services in both the Bailiwicks of Jersey and Guernsey. All of our network is 3G enabled enabling us to offer both GSM and advanced UMTS voice, data and video services to all of our customers.
Our Network and Beyond
In both Jersey and Guernsey, Airtel-Vodafone is the leading 3G network operator, in terms of innovative products and network capabilities. All our sites are both 2G and 3G enabled and currently offer HSDPA services up to 3.6 mbps. In Jersey we operate with 50 sites, whilst across the Bailiwick of Guernsey we operate 40 sites, all connected by high speed microwave or leased line links.
Airtel-Vodafone has local interconnect agreements with Jersey Telecom, Cable & Wireless and Newtel, as well as signing full roaming partnerships with all UK mobile operators; Vodafone, O2, Orange, T Mobile and 3. Robust high capacity links ensure exceptional service quality and reliability between Jersey and Guernsey and between the Channel Islands and the UK and beyond.
Roaming arrangements are developing monthly, with direct roaming set-up with over 40 countries and indirect roaming established with over 400 countries. Additionally, comprehensive SMS and MMS hubbing arrangements are in operation with global players including MACH, Sybase 365, Aicent and Syniverse.
