How do I know if I have received a Voicemail message?
When someone leaves a message on your Voicemail, you will receive a text message alerting you of the number of new, urgent and saved messages in your mailbox. Voicemail messages that have not been listened to will be saved for up to 10 days. Your Airtel-Vodafone phone comes with a personal Voicemail as standard. It takes messages for you when:
• you can’t answer your phone;
• you’re on another call and can’t switch calls;
• you are outside Airtel-Vodafone’s coverage area; or 
• your mobile phone is switched off 
 
How do I use the Missed Call Alert Service?
To ensure you really never miss a call, your Airtel-Vodafone Voicemail comes with an in-built Missed Call Alert service. If someone does get through to your Voicemail and does not leave a message for you, you get to know of it anyway. You will receive a text message from the number of the person who tried to call you, stating that you have missed call(s) from the number with the time of the call. 
 
How do I listen to my Voicemail messages?
When a Voicemail message is left, a text alert is sent to you.
1. Dial 191 to reach your Voicemail.
2. Follow the simple steps to listen to your messages. Airtel-Vodafone Voicemail is quick to use as there are several single key presses to help you navigate through your messages quickly.
When listening to your messages press:
2   - forward message (if not confidential)
3 - delete message
4 - get message details
5 - save message
6 - skip to previous message
7 - listen to your message again
8 - skip to next message
9 - call back person who left you the message
* - undelete and save the last message you deleted
3. Press the Red Phone key to hang up.  
 
How do I personalise my Voicemail greeting?
Your Voicemail comes with a standard greeting, but you can record your own personal greeting so your callers know they’ve got through to you.
1. Call your Voicemail by dialing 191.
2. Listen to the simple steps and select option 8 for ’User Options’, then option 4 for ’Change Greeting’, then option 5 to listen to your current recorded greeting.
3. Record your new greeting and press 7 to review it.
4. If you are happy with your new recording, press 9 to save. Alternatively press 3 to delete and record again.  

How do I set up a Voicemail password?
For added Voicemail security, you can set up your Voicemail to request a personal identification number each time you want to listen to your messages.
The first time you access your Voicemail - either from your Airtel-Vodafone handset or another phone - you’ll be asked to set up your password. To change / set your password at any time later, just follow the steps below:
1. Call your Voicemail by dialing 191 from your Airtel-Vodafone mobile.
2. Listen to the simple steps and select option 8 for ’User Options’, then option 7 for ’Change Password’
3. Set your new password and exit Voicemail. Here are a few hints and tips to keep in mind when setting your password.
• When choosing a number for your password make sure it is memorable but not too obvious - avoid numbers like 0000, 1234 or your date of birth.
• Never share your password with anyone.
If you suspect someone knows your number, please change it immediately. Avoid writing your password number down

How do I listen to my Voicemail messages from another phone?
If you do not have access to your Airtel-Vodafone phone, you can listen to your Voicemail messages from any other phone. To use this service you must set up Voicemail password.
1. Call 07829 700191 (Jersey) or 07839 700191 (Guernsey) from any phone in the Channel Islands or the UK.
2. Follow the instructions and enter your Airtel-Vodafone number when prompted.
3. When asked for, enter your Voicemail password.
4. Follow the simple steps to listen to your messages. 
 
How do I use Airtel-Vodafone Voicemail abroad?

Airtel-Vodafone Voicemail can be used abroad. You will however need to set up your Voicemail password at least 24 hours before you leave the Channel Islands so you can access your Voicemail internationally. To listen to your messages using your Airtel-Vodafone mobile or any other phone whilst abroad, dial +44 7829 700191 (Jersey) or +44 7839 700191 (Guernsey) , then follow the instructions to enter your full Airtel-Vodafone number followed your password when prompted.
Costs for accessing Voicemail while abroad will depend on your price plan and the country you’re calling from. Please note using Voicemail abroad is subject to coverage. 

Is there another way to access my Voicemail when I’m abroad?
Yes. A never-before seen feature in Voicemail is now available for Airtel-Vodafone customers - receive your voicemails as an email attachment!  If you are roaming abroad and would like to save yourself the expense of accessing your Voicemail on an international call, you can benefit from receiving Voicemail messages by email.
To register, simply send a text message from your Airtel-Vodafone phone with your email address prefixed with Email to 191. For example, text <Email joe.blogs@hotmail.com> to 191 to register this as the email address to send your voice messages to.
These messages will be sent to you as an MP3 attachment.

How do I listen to a message again?
Once you have started to listen to your message, you can rewind, skip to the next message, or fast forward. While you are listening to your message you can press:
6 - skip to previous message
7 - listen to your message again
8 - skip to next message 
 
How do I leave a Voicemail message?
When another Airtel-Vodafone customer is unable to take your call, you can leave your message once diverted to Voicemail. After recording, press # for more options.
Press 2 to add to your message
Press 3 to delete and record your message again
Press 4 to mark (or unmark) your message as confidential
Press 5 to request (or cancel) message-read receipt
Press 7 to review recorded message
Press 8 to mark (or unmark) message as urgent
Press 9 to deliver message & exit

How do I send a Voicemail message directly?
• To send a voice message directly to another Airtel-Vodafone customer, dial 191 to call your Voicemail.
• Press 8 for User Options, followed by 8 again for Enhanced Services and finally press 3 for recording your voice message
• Enter the recipient’s Airtel-Vodafone number to send your message  
 
Can I set a future date for delivery of a Voicemail message?
An exclusive feature of the Airtel-Vodafone Voicemail is that you can choose a future date for delivery of your Voicemail message.
1. Dial 191 to call your Voice Mail.
2. Press 8 for ’User Options’, followed by 8 again for ’Enhanced Services’ and finally press 3 for leaving a voice message for a future date
3. Leave details of the destination number and the chosen future date of delivery 
 
How do I stop someone from forwarding my message?
You can set the delivery of a message as confidential so it can’t be forwarded to anyone else.
1. After reaching an Airtel-Vodafone Voicemail, follow the prompts in the usual manner to record a message.
2. After recording your message, press # for more options. Choose option 4 to to mark your message as confidential.
3. You can also unmark this message as confidential by pressing 4 again.

How do I use ’Read Receipt’ for my Voicemails?
Like emails, sometimes certain voice messages are more important than others and it is necessary to know when they have been retrieved. This is where the advanced ’read receipt’ option when recording Voicemail messages becomes really useful.
To set a read receipt for your message, press # at the end of recording your message for more options, and press 5 to request a read receipt.
Once your Voicemail message has been accessed by the recipient, you will receive a text message from the recipient’s number confirming that your Voicemail has been retrieved.  
 
How do I use Voicemail Call Back?
Voicemail Call Back allows you to return a call to the person who left you a message. When you have listened to the message, press the 9 key and you will automatically call the person who left the message.  
 
How long can a Voicemail message be?
A Voicemail message can be up to 3 minutes in length. Your personal Voicemail greeting message can also be up to 3 minutes long.  
 
How many Voicemail messages can I save?
Your Voicemail will store up to as many as 100 messages at any one time, whether they are saved or new messages. 
 
Can I send Voicemail messages to other mobile networks?
You can only send messages to other Airtel-Vodafone customers on both pay monthly and pay as you go.
